The Winning Pitch

IN A WORLD…where game pitches and ideas can be brought to life! In this project and school assignment, I worked with a team to create a design pitch reflecting a real industry one. The main gimmick however was to develop the game concept and turn it into a pitch based on a single reference video. With a 1 month deadline and and the reference given to us, it was a race to the finish as we competed with other teams as to who had the best pitch!

Meet the Team

Teams were set up randomly, but we seemed to all get together well instantly. Although, when everyone is interested in video games its hard to get off on the wrong foot! Our team was comprised of 6 members, one of which was online in Texas. We all came from a variety of backgrounds, and with the team name Bobcat given to us, we were excited to develop our first game pitch.

Brainstorm and Research

Every big presentation starts off with an idea, so in this stage, we worked together as a team to ask ourselves where we wanted to go with the reference video. The reference video was about a robot exploring a desert-like biome and can be seen here! From there, we made the story, mechanics, genre, and more.

First Draft

After gathering research, establishing a presentation order, and making a script, it was time to make a draft presentation. Here we did most of the video editing, voice-overs, and more to make a concrete pitch for the game idea we had.

The Final Pitch

After getting a review back from the professor, and making sure everything was implemented, we made the Final Presentation.
